You broke my vase

A time to be apart
These emotions are so strong,
They're tearing up my heart.
This separation feels so wrong.
It's breaking me apart.
I miss holding your hand,
And hugging you while you sleep,
Adventuring together in slumber land.
I miss how each time your alarm beeps,
You just press snooze and sleep another ten.
And then when you finally get up from bed,
I love how you smile,
While you scratch your head,
Innocently as a child.
I miss the friendly times we've spent,
and going out for long rides,
To all the places that we together went.
I miss just being by your side,
I even miss your lovely scent
I miss it all to such an extent,
That being away is such torment.
I can't wait to be reunited
To be with you and hold you again.

And cannot be happy until then.

I left without saying goodbye,
Knowing that when you wake up you'll cry.
I really had to leave,
I did, but I don't know why,
maybe it's because I believe
We should stop living this lie.
Perhaps we should stop seeing each other,
We have the same mother and father,
You're my sister, and I'm your brother,
We really shouldn't be together.
Though we love each other so,
This is really wrong you know,
We have to let each other go,
and not let this relationship grow.
And so we must part, with blessed sorrow.
I don't like growing too attached,
Once I'm hooked it's hard to unlatch,
But when I find the perfect match,
I won't let anyone snatch
away my prized catch.
What a pleasant surpirse,
to wake from my slumber
and see you right there,
standing by the door.
Yes, you've changed your hair,
it's no longer the style I used to adore,
but I'm glad all the same,
when you call my name,
and wake me from my restless slumber.
I haven't seen you for I can't remember
how many years.
But now you're here,
I want to exclaim my joy aloud,
because gone are the dark clouds,
dried are my tears,
slain are my fears,
for in front of my eyes I see
only happiness and cheer
and clear blue skies,
now that you've come back
to me.
I dream to wake up and one day find
That perhaps it was all just in my mind.
I dare to hope that this life's a dream,
Or rather a nightmare, where I want to scream,
But each new day I open my eyes,
I realize my dreams are lies.
Each time I awake to this reality,
I shut my eyes tight, I refuse to see
All the ugliness around me,
All the poverty and people going hungry.
And all the sadness and misery
in this poor third world country.
Everyday life is a burdensome chore,
Everything around me is an eyesore,
I cannot bear it any more,
How my country is steeped in war.
Everyday's news seems to be the same edition:
Horrific stories of kinappings and child abduction,
Up-to-date stories of the latest mass destruction,
And of corrupt politicians winning the election.
Why can't these people see
That war comes with a tremendous fee,
And that it's paid by innocent people like me?
And so I dream to wake up and one day find,
That these people are no longer blind,
And that sense comes to their mind,
To fight no more;
To end the war.
I sit here in this public place,
Glancing every now and then,
Across at the couple holding hands,
Each with a smile upon their face.
It's early in the morning,
He probably hasn't had his coffee,
But thanks to his lovely feeling,
He doesn't need it greatly.
She yawns, he sighs,
He gives her a tired smile.
She rubs the dirt from his eyes,
Admiring his features the whole while.
In their seats they begin to shift,
Then they hug and lightly kiss,
And I wonder when I'll recieve this gift,
And my eyes tear up for the one I miss.
It's a quarter to five,
An early hour, when not a single bird sings,
We're waiting for the plane to arrive,
But these two, they're flying without wings.
Today I had quite an incident:
I met a terrible fight attendant
Who was rather quite unpleasant
She obviously didn't use deodorant,
Or even an anti perspirant.
Never have I met someone so reluctant
To smile, or even so impatient,
For when I asked to have the seat adjacent,
Which to me was clearly vacant,
She was so unusually insistent:
"no, you must ask the occupant!"
Her speech wasn't very fluent,
Nor was she very eloquent.
He dressing was certainly not elegant,
She wore a monstrous ugly pendant;
Hideously gawdy and flambuoyant.
I knew from the very instant
That she reacted to a child delinquent
That she couldn't possibly have an infant.
True, the child wasn't innocent,
But the silly flight attendant,
Her reaction was most impudent
Never have I seen someone so insolent.
Without her, the flight would have been excellent
I should have told the cabin crew that she was most redundant!
